Bush Kinder
During Terms 2 and 3 we run an offsite bush kinder program for our four year old Platypus Group. This program is held exclusively, outdoors, offering opportunities for children to explore and learn about the natural environment.
The Bush Kinder program aligns itself to the Early Years Learning Framework through its strong emphasis on play-based learning. It helps children become more connected with their environment and contribute positively to a more sustainable future.

The outdoor learning spaces explored during our time at Bush Kinder offer a vast array of possibilities. They invite open-ended interactions, spontaneity, risk taking, exploration, discovery and connection with nature. Whilst engaging in this program the children will explore the seasons, become familiar with local plants, listen to the birds call, look for bugs, climb trees, get their hands dirty in the mud, and so much more!

Being an outdoor based program children will need to have sturdy waterproof boots as well as a waterproof jacket and pants (these items are available for hire from the kinder, more information will be provided upon enrolment).

The program runs in all weather conditions with the exceptions of severe weather conditions (i.e. electrical storms, forecast temperatures of over 36 degrees Celsius, winds forecast at a speed in excess of 45 kms an hour). In these instances the bush kinder program will be cancelled and the session will take place onsite.

Whatever the weather, children are encouraged to take the lead in playing, exploring and learning.
